Starbuck’s is not all that…. neither is McD’s new McEspresso. However – if I am going to drink espresso drinks that are not the best – why the hell would I pay $4.50 for one…. see the sign above.
It should totally be McSpresso. Ditto the McCino and the McMocha, when they get around to it.
Oh, come on now….McDonald's and GOOD coffee??? HA HA HA HA HAHAHAHAHHAHA. Four bucks is Dumb insinuates that we may all just as well drink Boonsfarm wine instead of Chateau LaFite or even Kendall Jackson Cabernet. Why not we just all drive a Yugo instead of our Lexus? Why not all live in a shack instead of a 20 room 5000 square foot home. From McBarfo's point of view, it's all worth the same, isn't it? I have to admit, four bucks IS dumb for the crap Starbucks serves, but a true independent coffee house that has been properly trained with FRESH beans that are freshly ground to order, hand tamped and then your latte properly steamed makes a hell of a difference and may well be worth far more than four bucks.
Four Bucks for a Burger….now that's dumb, when I can make a gourmet hamburger on my grill with everything on it for a hell of a lot less, using ANGUS to boot.
Mickey D's….you can just give up and start to train your monkeys how to serve food first…..as they seem not to know how to do that even at this point.
Joe – I am not by any means holding up McDick's as any kind of premium Espresso drink purveyor. Their McMocha's McLatte's and all the other stiff they serve is like most of their menu – inoffensive to the masses.
Totally agree on the indie coffee house thing… if they take the time to train their Baristas and use quality product and good technique – the product is definitely light years above “Charbucks” and more worth the money.
