What is your foodie pet peeve?

by Wade Tonkin on January 2, 2009

So – you have just spent the last 30 – 60 minutes cranking out some awesome grub that you have seasoned perfectly (and tasted to make sure.) You plate it up artfully and bring it out and place it in front of your guests… and the first thing that they do is attack your pride and joy with the salt and pepper – assuming it needs it? (without even a taste first)

ARGHHHH!

What is your foodie pet peeve? Please discuss below.

My pet peeve are full grown adults who are “picky eaters.” I don't like this, I won't try that. I'm not even talking exotic stuff. My brother is one of them. I can't believe we came from the same parents.

Okay, here's one. If you've never made it before, why do you think your version is better than mine? All theory, babes. Put your money where your knife is. :)

Heh… you might just hate me then without knowing me lol. I know what I like, so I tend not to want to try a whole lot of new things without being explained to exactly what's in it and then deciding if there's not a stray spice that might upset my tongue lol.

My only pet peeve in terms of cooking is when I drop it on my way to the table :D

I can't stand to read a menu! I read all day and when I am wanting to enjoy a great meal, I want to get out of my head and into the conversation, into the ambience and the time away from reading. So, when a menu requires that I study, or take in large colorful and distracting choices I fold. I'd rather someone else suggest something to me that sounds good.
